Who's Down with RBG for APE? (Adapted Physical Education)
Help me give my students APE lessons using RBG's workout book and exercise equipment to teach students about her contributions to America while working up a sweat!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is dedicated in providing learning opportunities for students of all abilities. As the Adapted Physical Educator (APE) at the school, I help all the students improve their perceptual motor function, locomotor skills, object control skills, physical fitness and adaptive behaviors. Through repetitive movement, whether it be with verbal, positional or hand over hand prompts, my students learn to gain independent skills they need to navigate their environments. The students' level of participation depends on the severity of their disabilities. I have students with Autism, orthopedic impairments, deaf and hard of hearing, and cognitive disabilities.
My Project
Please help me with the supplies I need to create Adapted Physical Education lessons incorporating the RBG Workout book and exercise equipment into my curriculum.
Did you know that we will be performing the same movements that the Notorious RBG worked on everyday with her personal trainer if this project gets funded?
Your generous donation will provide each student with their very own book and exercise equipment to use at home during distance learning.
Inside each gift bag that will be sent home will have hand weights just like the ones RBG uses! The students will use the hand weights to perform shoulder press, triceps press, and wrists curls. They will perform a modified seated chest press and bicep curl with their own latex free, resistance band, and perform bench sit and stand with their own ball. They will also have their own water bottle and towel to stay cool and hydrated in class!
