Whole School Student Store Motivates Positive Behavior

Help me give my students the opportunity to spend their positive behavior PBIS tickets on fabulous items at our monthly student store and monthly whole school raffles.

My Project

Effective classroom management begins with explicitly teaching expected behaviors and procedures in all settings. Adults reinforce expected behaviors by giving children tickets along with specific verbal praise. Tickets can be used to purchase toys and school supplies at our monthly student store and whole school raffles. The items that you purchase for our monthly whole school store and raffle will delight our children and reinforce them for being safe, respectful and responsible.

Our students want to earn tickets because they have value.

Students know they can "buy" pencils, sharpeners, notepads, slime, bouncy balls, and other amazing school supplies and toys each month. They keep their tickets in class envelopes and eagerly report to me how many tickets they have and can't wait until the next store. Their eyes light up when they see all the fun items at the store. All of this positivity and excitement makes for a safe and respectful school climate where children feel like they belong and make great academic growth from year to year.
