My Students

Hello! I am a veteran teacher of 28 years. I have always taught upper grades but this year I had an opportunity to work at the Indian Reservation that borders my home town. I took the leap and moved to 1st grade. Having changed grades so drastically, I have a limited amount of 1st grade centers.

Our population has limited access to technology.

We are currently still able to be at school. However, we are now back in stage 3 and could go online at anytime. If this happens, my littles would greatly benefit from manipulatives and learning games that we could check out to them to use at home if and when we go virtual.

These kids are so anxious to learn. They're bright and funny and motivated. Our teachers just want to help bring a little school learning and fun to our kids at home.

My Project

Hello!

1st graders spend countless hours on phonics and basic math.

Just like adults they love games. The secret is to trick them by using games that teach through play! There are so many board games, card games and manipulatives available right now. It's the perfect time to stock up for classroom centers with the expectation that students will be at home soon and I can check them out to them like we do library books. Families teaching at home have encouraged more companies to expand their learning options. I'm hoping to use them both at school and also at home if need be.
