This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to do project-based assignments. Every year, I assign a "cereal box biography project", where my students pick a famous African American to research. They, then, design a cereal box to bring awareness about that person.

In order to be successful at this, my students need access to the Who Was...? Books, as they are very concise and easy to read.

There are so many influential African Americans that are part of this book series, as well as influential women!

In March, I plan on using these books again to research a famous woman from history in honor of Women's History Month.
