Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a gifted class in a low socio-economic area. The program is a magnet program for five elementary schools.

Most of my students do not have access to books at home. Those who do often choose books that are "fun" and below their current reading level.

My goal, with the requested biographies, is to give students examples of other gifted individuals who have contributed to our country. By studying these great scientists, artists, politicians, and explorers - my students will see that anyone can become what they choose if they just set their mind to it.

Thank you in advance for your generous donation, which will make it possible for my students to learn more about those who have helped build and shape our past and present.
