My Students
My students are a group of highly energetic, amazing children with Autism in grades 1-5. Many students with Autism have difficulties in learning new information, communicating, and social interaction.
My students are energetic, enthusiastic learners.
The students I teach range from mild to severe on the Autism spectrum. Finding activities that can encompass all my little learners can be difficult! I teach in an urban elementary school in Wisconsin with a high poverty rate. All of my kids have excellent attendance and have a love of learning!
My Project
The books I am requesting for my class will continue to enhance our classroom library. All of the students love books and are always excited to get their hands on new ones!
The books I am requesting are from a series called, Who Was..? The Who series is comprised of basic biographies of incredible innovators, legends and trailblazers.
The Where series explores historic landmarks and natural wonders of the world. Finally, the What series covers everything from revolutionary battles to natural disasters and social movements. These nonfiction readers are a fun way to introduce elementary age kids to historical people, places and events!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
