Who Wants to Sit Still When You Can Fidget?

Help me give my students alternate seating. Sitting still in a chair for 90 minutes is difficult for most people. This will give the students an opportunity to move their feet and get some sensory feedback.

My Students

My students are amazingly talented. They don't let their difficulties slow them down. They persevere when given a challenge. As they grow, they see their potential.

My students want to get all that they can out of life, but they know, to do this, they need to learn all they can.

Many of them have started their lives in very difficult situations, but they are coming out the other side. With encouragement, there are no limits to where they can go.

My Project

High school students are expected to sit still, in a chair that doesn't move, for 90 minutes at a time. With these options, they can move their feed, and get sensory feedback, which can make a big difference.

Asking a teenager to sit still for any length of time is like trying to herd cats - it just can't be done.

Students need to be able to move around, or at least move their feet, where they can feel the feedback. If they can move without disrupting the class by constantly getting up, it will help them focus on the lesson at hand.
