This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Steve Jobs refereed to iPads as a "magical device". This is so true. I have witnessed this at our school over the past year. IPads have transformed the learning going on at Pioneer Elementary. I want to allow our students to personalize and maximize this experience by using headphones.

Pioneer Elementary is an amazing place to learn.

Students come to school every day knowing they are safe, cared for, and their teachers are going to support them in their learning journey. Life isn't always easy, and many of our students know this first hand. However, the challenges of outside life don't interfere with their success in school. Regardless of the fact that Pioneer Elementary is 84% free and reduced lunch and 42% ELL, our students consistently achieve high levels of success. I truly admire their determination, focus, and attitude. My students have recently been experimenting with different devices and with this new form of leaning are some unexpected hurdles. My students are so excited about learning on iPads that sometimes focus can be an issue. My goal is to completely personalize the learning experience for every child and give them best materials in the world to learn. This includes interactive websites, presentations, news articles, videos, math tutorials, etc.

My Project

These headphones are greatly needed and they will transform the way I am currently use devices with my students. I will use these headphones with students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. I want every child to be learning at their level. These headphones will allow for students to have stories read out loud to them without disturbing other students. Students will be able to interact more freely at their own pace with specific websites that I have chosen. Students will be able to collaborate through Google documents without ever saying a word-allowing ALL voices to be heard. These headphones will help implement the blended learning I envision taking place with my students. The possibilities are truly endless. Noises can be a distraction and take students away from their learning; but with these headphones, students will not have to worry about being distracted and they will be able to be 100% involved in what they are doing.

Donations for these headphones will improve my instruction and will improve the learning of my students.

Students' lives will be changed because they will be given the opportunity to become fully involved with their learning-whether it be a interesting eBook or history article, a science video, or an interactive math website. Headphones will give each student the opportunity to close themselves off to the rest of the world and just learn...better than they ever have before.
