My Project
My students are full of energy, excitement, and compassion. They are enthusiastic learners who are curious about the world around them! Our families are mainly middle-low to low socioeconomic status. We are a school set in an urban location and receive Title I funding. Because we are such a diverse community, our school delves deeply and immerses the children into the arts. Music, art and creativity are things we all understand regardless of the language we speak.
Our class is in desperate need of new whiteboards.
We use our whiteboards almost everyday for every subject, but our old ones are all marked up, peeling, and hard to erase. For phonics, we practice writing the new skills we learn everyday. During math, we solve addition and subtraction problems on them, and play fun math games with our math partners. Our new students from different countries that are learning English for the first time use these boards to improve their English skills. These are only a few examples of what these magical whiteboards can do for my students.
Upon entering our classroom, you might not have any idea of the incredible magic that is actually happening. We are an incredible school that delves its students into learning and encourages collaboration amongst all students regardless of ethnic background, economic status, or academic and learning style. These whiteboards will help every student in our class so much during each school day.
