This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I love my job and I love my students. Not a day goes by that I am not smiling, laughing, and having a blast. Don't get me wrong, there are many sad and stressful parts of my job as a Title 1 third grade teacher. Many of my students have hard lives with many barriers, but nothing gets in their way or mine in making them lifetime learners.
Students in poverty don't have everything they need to be college and career ready, but I want to change that.
Through hands-on learning, a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) focus, and a positive growth mindset, my students are on their way.
My Project
My class is learning about the life cycles of different animals. I have a hydroponic fish tank ready to set up. I know my students will love learning about the science of plants and fish, but I want the tank to bring smiles to the students as they make observations.
Adding tropical fish and Sponge Bob decor to the hydroponic grow tank will make my students smile every day.
Who says science needs to be so serious? My students will be using science notebooks to make scientific drawings and observations. Please help me add a little more fun to my classroom.
