My students are ready to get some normalcy back at recess. Due to Covid we have limited what they can do at recess. And as many of you know recess at middle school is not anything like elementary. Our "playground" is the football/baseball/PE field with an adjoining tennis court. We do have a trail around field, but do you know many teenagers that just want to walk laps?!? They are begging to get some new equipment to enjoy during their short lunch break.
My Project
Let's head outside for recess? Most middle schoolers aren't exactly thrilled to hear that phrase. Especially this year! They leave elementary school where they have a big playground with many structures to play on. They come to middle school where the "playground" is just an area normally used for after school sports and PE.
My students are ready to start playing catch, four-square, soccer and volleyball!
They have been begging to start bringing out more equipment for them to use during their short break time!
The cart will make it easier for teachers on duty to gather up all the equipment to keep it safe for the next day.
