My students need a doll house, furniture and doll families to use with it.

My Students

Who lives in your house with you? What is a family? What does it mean to be a family? What do families do together? My students truly need a play area where they can role play real life experiences with each other.

My students are generally low income families and have very little.

Many of my students do not have the experience of playing with a doll of any type and using their imaginations to "play together." It will be nice for them to be able to share experiences and realize who family members really are to us and the roles they play in our lives.

My Project

My students will learn not only to work together, play together, share and use their imaginations; but they will get to talk to other students about whom they may live with/who is part of their family. For most of my students, their families are extremely different and this will help them to not only see differences, but accept them as well.

This project is very important to me.

As I have stated earlier, children today have very few life experiences, such as pretending and playing with dolls, role playing others, etc. This will help them to grow in all of the above stated areas.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
