Who Has the Time?

My students need 4 manipulatives to use to help them learn how to tell time.

My Students

Which hand is the minute, which hand is the hour? Have you ever glanced at a clock quickly and got the time wrong? Imagine learning how to tell time for the first time, it's not always so easy!

My students attend a Title One school.

The majority of the students come from low income families and receive free or reduced lunch. About half of my students are also ESL and have parents that speak little or no English to help with their learning at home.

My Project

Most of the time, when trying to teach the children how to tell time on a digital or analog clock, we use workbooks or pictures, or a drawing of a clock on the white board. If my students had these time manipulatives to use hold in their hands, I think they would have a much better understanding of how a clock works and how to tell time.

This project is important for my students because this is one more small thing to learn that will make a big difference in their futures.
