My Project

I would love to give my students the opportunity to have a Lego club after school. I work in a small rural school with few funds to support after school activities. A Lego club would provide students with a chance to do something they love to do while learning.

Legos promote problem solving, teamwork, and creativity.

These manipulatives, although known to kids as toys, give students an experience of learning through concrete objects. There are so many ways that Legos are educational: they are a great way to incorporate STEM learning, use cognitive skills, and build spatial awareness as well.

Students can use the blocks to "free build" or complete a "challenge" given to them or complete a set by following a sequence. The storage bags and trays will keep everything in a central location and the acrylic boxes will display their creations. Our students would be so excited to have access to these materials!
