This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are Honors and Advanced Placement students who are extremely hard-working and absolutely love science. They are curious about the impact of science on day to day life and using the concepts we have learned in the classroom to understand the impact we have on our environment.
When truly inspired by something, they tenaciously pursue knowledge related to it.
I have students who are very much natural born leaders. They amaze me every day with their enthusiasm for science and love of chemistry.
My Project
These calculators will help ease the anxiety of my students who forget their claculators at home on test days! They will also help my students who do not have a calculator to complete one of my many math problems during class. Stoichiometry calculations are much easier with a calculator, as are mole conversions and pH calculations. If any of that made you break out in a cold sweat, think about how my students feel when they are asked to do these problems and they do not have a calculator they can use! It is not a pretty sight... Help them!
