My Students

The students in my second grade classroom are very eager to learn. They are hooked on reading. We love to locate new information and create projects. I want my students to read a variety of genres.

My students are high achieving second graders.

They are fluent readers and are learning a variety of strategies to interpret texts and analyze characters. My school is a very special place. The students and teachers care about each other. Our school environment is friendly and inviting.

My Project

My class is beginning a unit on biographies. I want to inspire them to love to read facts about real people. I want them to share their newfound biographical knowledge with each other and the world. I want them to choose to read biographies on their own. We will be creating timelines, poems, question and answer books, and determining importance. The students will be taking notes and organizing facts that they learned. As a culminating celebration they will dress up as the person they researched and we will interview them.

This donation will build excitement for our biography research unit.

Our classroom is in need of fresh and new biographies that will interest my second grade students. I am hoping that my students will look forward to our reading unit and come to school everyday excited about school.
