My Project

Sharing your identity can be scary, but using children's picture books to share stories and have discussions will allow my students to see themselves in a different light. Now that they are very comfortable with each other in the classroom, it is time to work on some identity projects and celebrate each one's uniqueness. The books I chose include Native American titles and social-emotional titles that are lacking in my classroom.

Building a diverse classroom library takes time, but with great recommendations, these books will drive my Project Identity plans to the next step.

I want my students to see themselves in these books. I want them to feel comfortable when creating Who Am I? and What's in My Name? activities that will include them recording themselves and using animation while being storytellers.
