Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a rambunctious group of kiddos who strive to be and do their best! However many of them come to school daily without a snack when we have snack time so I motivate them with Whitehurst bucks which they get to turn in for a snack! This helps them use an economy system, but also helps the strive to complete their work for something that is tangible to them. This is to help them succeed as a great group of students!

My Project

My students will use what is bought to be able to focus more by having more energy throughout the day! By being able to purchase snacks with Whitehurst bucks, they will do two things: complete their assignments on time, and have the ability to work through a classroom economy system and know that what they are working for is tangible and of interest to them. If I can help them see the importance in hard work, and that it is important to succeed, I have done what I’m supposed to as their teacher. However, sometimes in order for them to see that, they have to be able to focus and they can’t do that on an empty stomach!
