My Students

In the few years that I have been a teacher, I have learned one very important thing: students will do anything, so long as they can do it on a whiteboard.

With thirty third graders all eager to share their ideas, it can be a challenge to check all of their work quickly during a lesson.

Whiteboards not only give me a chance to monitor their progress quickly, but also frequently, and without wasting paper.

My Project

While I have had whiteboards in my class before, I have often bought one-sided boards from the dollar section, trying to save money. Ultimately these boards get ruined quickly. Having sturdy, double-sided whiteboards, along with markers and erasers, will allow for more opportunities of use in the classroom.

Students will be able to practice math and drawing skills on the side that is blank and work on their cursive or math facts on the lined side of the board.

Students will be able to work individually and in small groups anywhere in the classroom. I am excited to see what other ways we will be able to use such a valuable tool in the classroom in the years to come!
