My students are beginning to feel frustrated with the learning from a distance. Today I asked my students to find a piece of paper to draw on and only 1/3 of them were able to find it.
Students have been out of our classrooms and schools for 7 weeks here in Alaska.
I want to get some practical supplies in their hands.
My Project
My students love writing and drawing on whiteboards. Having whiteboards at home will allow them to do math while at home and also is great non screen entertainment.
Decks of playing cards are great flashcards, for counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying and just playing games as as family.
My students have enjoyed learning and playing multiplication war this year. They can play addition or subtraction with younger siblings. And did you know that the pictures on the number cards are the same amount as the card number? That means younger siblings can play as well by counting.
Notebooks and pencils will allow the students to journal through this historic event for their future children and grandchildren to look back on.
