Whiteboards for the Collaborative Math Classroom!

My Students

My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds. My school is very ethnically diverse. Students speak a multitude of different languages.

My students love to learn using fun tools and collaborating with their peers.

I engage student learning by having students work in small heterogeneous groups. I have found that this strategy works really well, especially with the all different academic levels in my classroom. My students appreciate any generosity from big to small. I love that all my students have a place with heart and always have a positive attitude to never give up!

My Project

In my 6th grade Math classes, I use the strategy heterogeneous small groups. I have found that collaboration has helped to engage my students and have pushed them to reach great academic success. Many of my students have shown academic gains and have strengthened their math abilities through working in small groups.

To help make these small groups run effectively and efficiently, I'm looking to get 10 fold-able whiteboards.

My students will use these whiteboards within their small groups to solve problems, record information and collaborate. These white boards will be put to good use and be reused every year, helping my students to solve thousands of Math problems!
