Do you remember painstakingly writing on chalkboards? Squinting to see the text because it was so difficult to read? With the modern technology of a whiteboard, my students will not have to suffer from chalk dust!
My students are sixth-graders who attend an inner city elementary school.
They are hard-working, motivated, and determined to continue to make growth and progress. They are helpful and giving, eager to learn, and responsible. My students deserve to have an easy-to-read way of displaying lessons, and the magnetic assistance to display work.
My Project
In our classroom, we are still using chalkboards. Chalk can present challenges for students with allergies, dry out the skin on the hands (especially during the winter!), and be difficult to see for all learners in the front and back of the classroom. Providing our classroom with a whiteboard that will be easily visible to all students in the classroom will provide students the opportunity to have easy access to the lessons that will be presented on it. This magnetic whiteboard will also allow for us to be able to display student work in all subject.
The donation of this whiteboard will enhance our lessons.
Students will also be more likely to be willing to share thinking and explain to other students using dry erase markers rather than chalk. We will also be able to easily display student work using magnets, providing students with the opportunity to learn from one another more easily.
