Every day my students use their individual lapboards. They use them with whiteboards and they use them as a hard surface to write on when they are not at their desk.
My students love to learn.
They also love to feel like teachers and teach fellow students. We use whiteboards daily because they are easy to erase. The current lapboards that we are using are over ten years old and have scratches and pieces of the whiteboard material missing. They are deserving of some new lapboards.
My Project
While my students use my classroom lapboards for only a year, these lapboards have been used for over ten years and they are in poor condition. They simply need to be replaced.
In the past, I have folded a napkin and placed a napkin and a whiteboard marker in a baggie. if I had re-usable erasers, I could eliminate the waste and mess of the napkins.
I believe new lapboards will make a difference in the classroom because students wouldn't fight over the 'nice' whiteboards, they would all be nice and new.
