it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a math specials class to grades kindergarten through 5th grade. I've been incorporating the principles of Peter Liljedahl's "Building a Thinking Classroom" in my instruction. This means in my classroom, I get the students up out of their seats to work collaboratively at the whiteboards. Imagine a classroom of 25 first graders working at the boards, talking about math, building number sense and finding patterns. When it all comes together it is magical. However, we go through a lot of markers.
These supplies will help us get through the rest of the school year working at the boards.
Our current supply of markers will run out soon and the baby socks we've been using as erasers are looking a little worse for wear. The dry erase pockets will allow me to make less copies for the year, saving a few trees. We will use the command hooks at each station to hang the pockets because we don't have magnetic boards.
