I have the great privilege of teaching diverse learners in grades PreK-3 in the wonderful city of Chicago.
Everyday I get to work with the some of the most thoughtful, curious, and willing students!
I love the level of determination that my students have. They face challenges everyday with their schoolwork, and I am so proud that they push through no matter how difficult it may be. We have worked on having a growth mindset, and they truly embody what it means to persevere when something may be challenging. I am so proud of their growth and willingness to learn so far this year and want to continue to support them to the best of my ability.
My Project
The whiteboard kidney table that I have included in my project is meant to allow students the space to work out their math problems without the fear of being "wrong". The table can be easily erased! Additionally, this table will help improve students' writing by allowing them to work through the writing process directly on the table. Students will be able practice writing conventions, edit sentences, and have a brainstorming session right on the table.
This whiteboard kidney table will help build confidence in my students abilities, and ultimately improve their attitudes towards school.
Students won't be so fixated on being "wrong" because the table is easily erasable! The learning process will become much more efficient because I can be right next to them in order to help correct any errors.
Lastly, wobble seats work wonders to help sustain attention. My students have some challenges with staying on task, and I would love to support them in any way that I can. While working at the whiteboard table, they can utilize the wobble cushions to stay on task and engaged in their learning. I would love provide students with a way to get some wiggles out without having them miss any learning!!
