My students are part of an amazing classroom family who work their hardest to do the best they can in everything they do. They love a good competition, as well as coming up to the board to solve problems, write answers or even just brainstorming. They’re bright, quick witted, and warm hearted and deserve the best I can give them. They love to get up and move all over the room, which I do regularly and I incorporate puzzles of all sorts into stations, especially ones they have to solve on the whiteboard!
My Project
My students absolutely love coming up to the board and working on it. I always designate a “class scribe” to write down our ideas during brainstorming activities, while class discussions, and during competitions! I moved to a new classroom with a whiteboard that’s too old to write on anymore. This project is a way for me to keep my kids engaged throughout the year, and a way for them to learn how to break out of their shell more. Coming up to the board brings the students who are more shy into a new light, and when they work as a team I get to see them grow and flourish with new people. It may seem like such a small part of a classroom, but a whiteboard is imperative to foster an engaging classroom. A classroom without whiteboard antics is just so boring! Help us get a new whiteboard so we’re not bored!
