This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergartners are eager and enthusiastic to write on whiteboards, let's face it, it's way more fun than paper/pencil! Unfortunately, I have 26 students and 12 old (very old) white boards.

My students are fun and energetic five and six year olds.

Most are experiencing going to school for the very first time. They get excited when the opportunity to do or use something "new" comes along. My students attend school in South Los Angeles, they are considered to be economically challenged and receive free lunch.

My Project

I am asking for whiteboards and markers that will inspire and motivate my students to write. We are learning to write and whiteboards are a great tool for whole group use during dictation. The brush, paint cups, dry rack and aprons will allow my students to create art and express themselves through their paintings. The carpet will offer my class a vibrant and comfortable area where they can sit and enjoy a book in our classroom library.

Your generous donation will make it possible for my kindergarten students to practice reading and writing in a hands-on way!

It will allow them to express themselves though their art work, and motivate them to read books in an inviting area. Kindergarten is the year that sets the foundation of going to school to learn, and have fun doing it!
