White Board Resources for Virtual Learning

My Students

My students come from a high-poverty low-income community, but they do not let this hold them back. Some of my students' parents work two to three jobs to take care of the bare necessities of everyday life. While their parents want the very best for them, the extra things in life may not be readily available to them. This includes materials used to enhance education.

My students have faced many challenges in their young lives where school tends to be their only constant.

In our first grade classroom, we like to keep things exciting. There are a lot of important skills that my first graders need to master before they are ready for second grade. They love working with each other and learning new things!

My Project

First graders need visual aids and manipulatives to help them learn. This fall, we will continue with virtual learning. Having a magnetic white board that can be used during our virtual meetings is essential. We will use this for our morning writing, learning how to blend words and solving math problems! Along with the white board, there are magnetic math manipulatives that students use daily. The magnetic trays are a great way to display letter cards to help students sound out words and learn how to read. Being able to display these options is important to their daily learning.

Though virtual learning is an unfamiliar experience for many, having items they are familiar with from the classroom will help to ease this transition.

When we are able to return to the classroom, the white board and magnetic resources will still be used to help aid students learning experience.
