My students need dry erase markers to use on their individual white boards. The use of individual white boards significantly increases their amount of time spent on task.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It is hard to compete with the fast pace nano-flash world of video games and cartoons. I have found a way to keep my students focused on task.
I work at a school in a very low socioeconomic area.
My student's families are unable to send them to school with even the most basic supplies, a full stomach and a good night sleep, much less pencils and markers. Despite this fact, the students are quite eager to learn.
My Project
I have purchased individual white boards for my students (9x12in.) The initial purchase came with one (lousy) set of markers. White board markers (the good low odor kind) are quite expensive. My students tend to use between 3-4 markers per school year. When they use their individual white boards they tend to stay motivated and on task. It also allows me instant feed back to see who is and who isn't grasping the concept being taught.
Without these dry erase markers I will be lucky to even get one for every four students from my schools supplies.
By providing each student their own marker, our time in the classroom can be used more efficiently.
