Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students enter school each day full of excitement and energy. Each day my students learn new strategies and continue to work hard in order to continue their learning. I work with a group of 3rd graders, who continue to amaze me through daily learning, goal setting, and goal achievement.
As a teacher in an urban school, where 100 percent of the students receive free breakfast and lunch, students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to continue to provide each of them with engaging and meaningful opportunities to learn.
My Project
IDR or Individualized Daily Reading is a very important part of the day. The whisper phones will help the students hear themselves while reading independently. They will be able to practice reading quietly to become more independent readers.
Reading to themselves in the whisper phones will allow students to hear what they are saying during this time and see what skills they need to practice.
It will also be something new which will make reading even more exciting!
