My Students

I teach primary grades at a very large, rural public school. 48% of our school is economically disadvantaged. All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. My kiddos love to learn. They are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging activities. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

My students come from all different types of backgrounds, some with regular exposure, which enhances their background knowledge, others with very little outside the classroom experience.

Truly, they are my inspiration to be the best teacher I can be!

My Project

Small-group instruction is essential to academic growth in students. Having a whisper phone will allow for students to read into them and focus on the way they are reading. I will be able to hear the students read at an independent level. This will allow me to correct and help students personally.

Students will be able to independently practice their reading!

Having a whisper phone will block out anything that is distracting them. I will also be able to focus on what needs to be worked on! We could also use resources to make sentences and the comprehension blocks will be a fun way to practice independently! Thank you for your help!
