The experience of seeing a chick hatch from an egg is an incredible learning memory that I would like to create for students. The excitement will fill the air, as the faint sounds began to chirp from inside the egg. "The chicks are hatching!" The children will cheer! I think all children should witness this amazing event. I plan to use the incubator several times throughout the year. I work with gifted and talented classes, Kindergarten through fifth grade. Animals and animal life cycles are a big part of my curriculum. For added enrichment, I want to conduct an experiment with chick and duck eggs. At first, children will not know that the eggs are different.Through scientific discovery, they will investigate the egg size and days of incubation and predict what the eggs are. Wow! You can imagine the expressions on their faces as we see the chicks and ducklings hatch. Definitely, a memory moment in the lives of the children I encounter.
