Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students at my school work incredibly hard. This college prep school offers students AP courses, an IB program, Sports, Clubs, after school courses, and so much more. In order to take advantage of all these opportunities, students need access to technology.
Technology is the gateway to success in college.
Without technology, most students don't make it through the 4 years to get their college degree. It's surprising how many students struggle in college due to lack of technology resources. Students need to be able to access resources if they want to be successful.
My Project
Often we need to store our information in a safe place that isn't the cloud. Flash drives are the way to do this quickly and inexpensively. Unfortunately, inexpensive is still out of reach of our current budget.
Flash drives are necessary to transfer information from one computer to another- an important ability in a classroom.
Without being able to transfer information, learning is often lost.
I know what you're thinking... why not just email it? Well, reliable networks are sometimes hard to come by. Occasionally the internet is out. Sometimes my students are in locations that don't have WiFi. Either way, they need another way to turn in their work.
