My Students
I teach in a first grade classroom with students who have a wide range of abilities and needs. I strive my best to accommodate students with creating an environment that supports all students. While being in a first grade classroom, students come from all backgrounds. This requires me to meet each student where they are individually. At my school, we love to take special account of each student to ensure that they feel loved and appreciated every day they walk through the door.
My Project
I am in need of a new area rug to help my students find a comfortable spot to learn on. I currently have cold tile flooring, it is neither comfortable nor inviting for a spot for my first graders to learn on. Having a big area rug provides an environment that allows for more engagement to happen. I try and make my classroom feel like a second home for students, and having a giant learning rug would allow for this welcoming environment. This would allow for more creative learning space to happen while remaining socially distant.
