My Students

Have you ever had a 3rd grader question you about the world around you...endlessly? That is what makes them wonderful scientists...always curious about the world around them! I want to help encourage and develop that love for Science and do what "real" scientists do...investigate and experiment.

Our district may be small, but our community is extremely supportive of our schools and our students.

The pride felt around our small town for our schools really motivates me as a teacher to make my classroom a truly amazing place to learn. Many other school districts have dropped science and social studies in favor of more time for reading, writing and math. I am lucky to work for a district that still promotes the importance of all subjects, including science. For me, Science in 3rd grade is a supportive subject that allows additional instruction in reading, such as nonfiction text and reading skills, as well as applying math concepts through hands-on opportunities.

My Project

My students need new science activities to help them reach the ever-growing challenges in education. Hands-on activities and engaging materials, such as observing firsthand the life cycles of the frog and butterfly, are a key component for this age group. The Raise A Frog kit and the Painted Lady Life Cycle Bio kit, as well as aquarium, will give my students an opportunity they wouldn't otherwise have. By supplying these materials, my students will be able to explore and learn about the different science concepts taught in 3rd grade. Our world is science driven and I feel it is important to instill a love for science in my students. The skills and knowledge they will gain in 3rd grade science will lay a strong foundation for future grades and hopefully spark an interest in science and learning for many of them.

I have 140 natural scientists in 3rd grade who need materials for investigations and research.

By making a donation to this project, you will help students get an opportunity to perform hands-on activities that they would not be able to do otherwise because of funding. Please help me make science SUPER for my 3rd grade scientists and donate to our project.
