I teach 2nd grade in a Title I school. Our school is made up of 43% Hispanic students and 60% free and reduced lunch. We are also an ARI (Alabama Reading Initiative) school. We try to include reading in everything that we do. I love to make learning fun for my students through fun filled materials. In 2nd grade we start learning more about the globe, map, and how to locate places. I have found these great workbooks that will help enhance reading, and geography skills. By using these workbooks all the children will have equal opportunity to learning at home and school. The workbooks are loaded with great map skills and everyday geography vocabulary words. Along with the workbooks I plan to have each student make a geography vocabulary notebook. Every week when we learn new words we are going to write and illustrate them. With all of this said, these workbooks along with our textbook would be a great asset to my students in learning about their surroundings. I have listed below some facts about the workbooks.
