Help me give my students the opportunity to incite their sense of adventure by putting a World Atlas in their hands! Give them a chance to dream about travelling around the world from their classroom desk!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have an innate sense of adventure and genuine love of learning about the real world! They are curious, hard-working and funny!
Every time we read a story, I look for a way to connect it to the world and the best way to do that is to place it in a real place through maps that my students can hold in their hands!
I strive to find stories that depict different cultures and places that my kids can only dream off. They love to see new places and are eager to find them by themselves. The set of Atlases that I have in the classroom is outdated (it is over 15 years old!). My students deserve to learn about the world they currently live in!
We will start by learning about our place in the world by locating and learning about our country and our continent. My students can go on to explore regions of the world and produce individual or collaborative projects on countries that they have a connection to. The goal is to help them develop a sense of community and belonging to a world that grows ever smaller!
