Where in the World?!

Help me give my students the opportunity to see the sky at night in our own classroom with this glowing celestial globe, then during the day, with the world globe, and up to date with Time for Kids.

My Students

I have 21 eager students that enjoy learning about the world around them. They enjoy music, and through song have learned the 7 continents, and 5 major oceans in the world. I often find I want to refer to a globe (finding the countries learning about in Scholastic News) and the earth (as we talk about the solar system, rotation, and revolution. to move, move, move! I want them to enjoy more flexible seating choices, and these stools match our USA theme!

A hands on realistic globe would allow my children to focus and achieve more in regards to both social studies and science.

As students learn more about their curiosities, they can teach others. The best way to learn is to do it hands on. The best way to retain is to do so while moving an object that is jammed packed full of information! Allowing children to have fun while learning helps them strive to do their best and increase positive aspects of community living. Giving children the chance to share their knowledge with each other helps them gain confidence as well as academic growth.

My Project

Many of my students are low-income, inner city children. They do not have the experience of laying out on the grass at night, looking at the night sky, seeing the big dipper, Orion, shooting stars, or the Milky Way. I would like to give them that opportunity with this light up illuminated constellation globe.

This Smartglobe will not only compliment my science program of the universe, but during the day also compliment my social studies program with a globe of the world, continents, countries, oceans, cities, etc.

Please consider donating to this project of mine. Let's get our society well-versed with current events and locations as well as knowing what is out of this world!
