This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are so curious about the world in which we live.
I teach in a wonderfully diverse, public school in the most diverse city in the world.
The children and their families come from near and far. One of my main goals each year is to help teach children to be accepting of others and culturally aware of the many types of people on our beautiful earth.
My Project
The children are learning so much about the world we live in. When we discuss the world we live in or different cultures they need to see what we are talking about and where we are talking about. With these maps we are helping to build more well rounded children with a better knowledge of the world and all the countries in it.
These maps are important primarily because we don't have easy access to these visual aids.
The children would gain much more knowledge of our country, our state and our world. They would be on their way to becoming "citizens of the planet". I hope that all my students will have a fire lit within them to discover what's across the oceans and mountains.
