Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My K-5th grade English learners are from Mexico and Central America. They are building new lives here while being proud of their respective cultures. We often share the ways their food, dress, music, art, holiday traditions and climate compare and contrast with those here.
My Project
My K-5th grade English Learners are curious about the world. With these books and maps, we will explore their native countries as well as those on the other side of the world.
“We are the world ~ We are the future.” By learning about other cultures, my students will appreciate the differences that make us unique and the similarities that unite us.
My Title 1 school is situated in a hard-working, but under-resourced neighborhood. I appreciate your generosity in helping me get the resources we need for hands-on engaging learning activities.
