I would like the books we read together to be reflective of the diverse students that I teach. Having a small group set of these multi-cultural read-alongs will strengthen my students’ literacy skills during our ESL classes. “Literature transforms human experience and reflects it back to us, and in that reflection we can see our own lives and experiences as part of the larger human experience.” -Dr. Rudime Sims Bishop I’ve also included multicultural art materials to accompany this literacy experience. This will enable my students to create true-to-life projects to use as they retell these stories to their families when they get home. Our school is 100% free lunch. Please help me grow my classroom library!
