Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In many of my lessons, places are mentioned. I need maps to help students learn about the location of these places. As we learn about Martin Luther King Jr., I want to show them the location of Atlanta, Georgia, his birthplace. Or, be able to show a student Afghanistan where his parent is deployed

My students are first graders with diverse backgrounds / ethnicities.

They are extremely inquisitive about other locations and places. Our school has been the backbone to this community for over 100 years. Our school has a strong support system of teachers, parents, and students.

My Project

The wall maps are of both the United States and the World's continents and countries. They are laminated and spring-rolled for easy retrieval and storage. The maps would provide visual enhancement to my lessons - including all subject areas. My students will learn about other communities beyond theirs.

These maps would bring the world to their finger tips!

Students will interact with the maps during lesson activities and be provided with the opportunity to understand their country and world beyond just text in a book.
