My students will use the talking globes to learn major points around the earth using geography with spoken & visual clues of continents, countries & oceans.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Sixth grade Social Studies students today want FUN!! Imagine you are 11 or 12 years old and you can play with a talking globe. You don't realize you are learning the oceans, continents, countries and major rivers of the world. These globes talk and give clues, even play music of that country's culture! Ability levels can also be adjusted for the appropriate learning level of the student without fear or embarrassment; it is all a game to the kids!
Talking globes are a superfun way to learn about cultures & geography! The magic button allows kids to hear thousands of amazing facts of continents, oceans, countries, distances, time zones, and even national anthems! Honestly, even big kids would like playing with these!!
My students would be in small group learning centers using our maps & playing the globe games! All the while they are learning, but don't tell them!!! :)
Our students need to know where they are in the world. Quickly locating places around the globe will assist them with all subjects in school! What a creative way to learn!!
