Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

With these materials, I will be able to enhance the reading rich classroom I strive to create. Each book is my classroom is treated with love. Creating a library in my classroom will create a more equitable environment for the students who may not otherwise have access. These books feature characters who look like my students and students can relate to. It is my hope that students in my community will grow to love reading as access to books becomes more available to them. Students will be able to choose books and read independently.
