This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Where can I sit?" Is often heard in my first grade classroom in Virginia. My high need and special education students do not have a carpet to sit on during whole group instruction.
We sit on the carpet that has been in the classroom for who knows how long. I try to put tape down to show students where their carpet space is, but often the tape peels off. The students are not sure where to sit or where their personal space is.
We need a carpet that has 30 squares already marked off so that everyone has their own place to sit. This will provide everyone with their own personal space and they will easily be able to remember where to sit because of the colorful rows and dark lines.
You will make it possible for my students to not have to worry about where to sit. All they will have to worry about is learning the information given.
