My Students

My students, 10th, 11th and 12th graders, attend a public high school, and the majority of students, approximately 50%, live in poverty. We are a small school of less than 600 and approximately 60% of the students are open enrollment, leading to less funding from the state.

We have a diverse population of students, as many students from the big city seek our school for greater opportunities.

When given the right tools, my students are excited to learn and grow. They are amazing! They are the future.

My Project

Pens and pencils are a necessity in a high school English classroom; however, many students come to class without them. In addition, students need to blow their noses. Cold season is upon us and our tissue is running low. We do not want students to wipe their noses on their sleeves.

These supplies will make our classroom run more efficiently so that all student can learn.

They will be able to write essays, make corrections, use our whiteboards, and sharpen their pencils.

The classroom cannot function without these basic supplies and you can help make our classroom a better place to learn.
