This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school has been identified as a low-socio economic school. More than 96% percent of our students are on a free or reduced lunch program. Our school is located in an area that could be considered to be in need of repair. Parent involvement at our school is minimal because the majority of our parents work more than one job and find it difficult to become actively involved with the school. Due to recent budget cuts, our teachers have had to seek their own sources of funding for special materials and activities.
My Project
My name is Mr. M and I am a 5th grade Science Teacher . My goal with the lab coats is to offer a broader spectrum of experiment opportunities to my students. This however is limited with the absence of necessary safety equipment.
The lab coats will provide a solid foundation to build upon for future projects and experiments to help immerse students with the subject matter.
The lab coats fill function as a protective layer from hazardous materials. The coats also function as a means to protect the students clothing from any materials that can potentially damage them. This important to mention due to the high percentage of the class being from low socio-economic homes.
By donating to this project, you will be helping these children reach the higher levels of learning by maximizing their opportunities for potential growth.
