My Students

What was your favorite book as a child? I know I can remember how excited I would be picking up a brand new book and the anticipation of new stories I would discover inside. I want to give that gift to my students.

I serve students between the ages of 3 and 14, so that is a wide variety of books I need to stock in my classroom.

I work in a high-poverty school district, and a lot of the kids don't have access to high quality books at home. My favorite days are when a student looks at my bookshelf and asks to take a book home because they want to read it on their own. Most of the books in my room have come from the thrift store or are books I had as a child, and while some are still good, others are hopelessly out of date. I would love to provide these kids relevant and exciting stories to learn from!

My Project

I've asked for a wide variety of books for children from preschool up to 8th grade. The books span non-fiction to fiction, biographies, science, fantasy, preschool concepts, and so much more. These books will open up students to a wide variety of new ideas and make their time in speech therapy that much more enjoyable and interesting.
