Help me give my students a printer & supplies, allowing them the opportunity to create a special book of knowledge & memories to last forever.

My Project

With limited abilities to read and write, my special education students need an outlet to express themselves and their many authentic learning experiences in our life skills classroom. A color printer and scrapbooking supplies will allow them to express themselves when words fail. It will also allow them to gain confidence while utilizing their creativity as they make a book that captures our 40 weeks together each school year. This book will also allow them to share their feelings about the vast knowledge they have gained in our educational program. This includes life skills such as learning how to cook, bake, garden, interact in our community, vocational tasks, and many more independent life skills.

As they age out of school and leave my classroom, the students will be able to use this special book of their own creation to reflect on the many wonderful memories we created together and the important knowledge they have gained.

It is important for my students to capture these memories tangibly, as a source of pride, love, and remembrance.
