This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school has made tremendous gains over the past twelve years, moving from one of the lowest-performing schools in the area to achieving the honor of being named a California Distinguished School!

We are an example of a community of students, teachers, parents, and staff all working together for academic achievement.

Our hope is that many of our students will be the first generation in their families to go to college!

The majority of my students are English language learners (ELLs) whose families are newcomers to America. They are highly motivated to learn and prosper.

My Project

My third grade students are expected to memorize their multiplication facts by the end of the school year. In order to accomplish this goal, it is necessary for them to practice on a daily basis.

The multiplication timed test books I'm requesting will be used in a fun way during center time.

My students will be able to work with their classmates to set multiplication fluency goals. Then they will work together by timing one another and cheering each other on. I believe that when students have a positive mindset and a support group, they can achieve their goals. I also believe that the books I'm requesting will help my students memorize their multiplication facts.
